Since these are all work from home, freelance, contract and telecommute jobs, you can be based anywhere and still apply. Providing you meet the employer's requirements. However, there are times when the employer will ask for applicants from a specific location, this will be clearly stated in the job posting below.
Title: Part-time PHP / MySQL Developer
Date Posted: 2009-11-02
Location: Chicago, IL
Description:
I am in need of a part time PHP/MySQL web developer. You would be doing advanced web development. You need to have a handle on solving typical web-based problems and you need to be able to hear a problem and be able to visualize a solution and how you would code it. I need you to be able to "jump right in", learn your way around and start coding. All sites are completed with existing framework and code. You would just be adding new features.
You'd work from home, do all testing on your home environment, and submit code to me via SVN.
Please check out my company website here:
http://actionwebapps.com/blog/
Click on Portfolio on the right. These are the sites you will be working on.
They are all PHP, MySQL, LAMP w/cPanel, Smarty templates. We use SVN.
My budget is $1000/month. Please state how much you could work for that amount per month. Number of hours actually worked isn't too important to me...I'm just looking for end results. This would be ongoing and could be nice for you if you already have a full-time job and are looking to make some extra cash in the evenings, etc...
This would be a contract-gig. We can try it out for a while and see if it works out :)
I don't care when you work, as long as there is consistent progress and stay in communication with me and produce results...in the end that's all that matters.
Here is what I need from you:
1. Please email me at c with 'PHP Job' in the subject line
2. attach your resume and/or any code samples or portfolio sites. you don't have to have a resume...I'm mainly looking for whether or not you can actually produce results with LAMP and smarty. portfolio sites, examples or even just an explanation of your experience is better than a generic resume.
3. In your email, please state why you would be a good match for this job including your experience with programming and LAMP specifically.
I don't want to discourage anyone from applying if you feel that you are a good match, but I'm just trying to weed out some people who "spray and pray" their resume to every IT posting out there.
I am posting this on Monday, Nov. 2. I will be compiling resumes over the course of this week. You will hear an answer from me by Monday, Nov. 9.
I don't really have anymore information on the job. The best thing to do is click around on some of the sites. Register for a free account on them if you want to so you can see inside. This is what you'll be working on and maintaining so there really isn't anything secretive here.
Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!
